Do
you know the starting
date of your business?
All
businesses are born with a “birth date”. The birth date is the
incorporation date of the business. This can be found by looking
at the “articles of incorporation” document – there is usually, in most
states a time and date stamp on the first or second page of this
document. This is the birth date of the company. If it did not
incorporate, then it would be the date of the business license as the
business birth date; or the date when the doors opened for business,
whichever came first. Knowing this date provides you with a great
opportunity for the strategy of your business market.
Work
for a Company?
It
would be beneficial
to know trends and cycles information about the company you presently
work for. Are they going through contraction or expansion? Good time to
ask for a raise? If it is large enough or a stock traded company, the
"birth date" information is already out there by public record.
You may also chart the date you started to work for the company, as this
tells you YOUR business trends in relationship to the company.
Expand Your Vision...
Trends
identified with
this date can expand your vision and the concept of how the future can
look and feel for where you want to go. Business trend forecasting
allows you to capitalize on those unique windows of opportunity.
If you know that you will have an expansion trend coming up, you
can
prepare for this – it may be that you need to hire more people, increase
sales, and marketing
strategies would change; hence so will the bottom line. Why wait
for it to happen before you are able to put your strategy in place,
capitalize on your expansion trend with Business Trend forecasting.
Another strategy would occur if you are aware of a contraction trend in
your business or where you work – it could save you a lot of money
knowing that it is coming and how long it will last!
